Private Detective Reading give information regarding spy equipment and gadgets in light of recent BBC News report dated 27 May 2013 by Stephen Evans: German railways to test anti-graffiti drones.

Vandalism is an expensive crime for the victim as it causes a huge amount of damage and is also a crime that is repeated. Deploying these infra-red drones can act as a deterrent as well as catching offender in the act.

According to the BBC News report dated 27 May 2013: German railways to test anti-graffiti drones, Deutsche Bahn are planning to test small airborne drones fitted with infra-red cameras to collect evidence of vandals who deface property at night. They are hoping that the evidence the drones collect will be used to prosecute criminals who cause about 7.6m euros worth of damage a year.

The BBC News report goes on to say that it is not yet clear how Germany’s strict anti-surveillance laws will affect the project as privacy is very highly valued in Germany. A Deutsche Bahn spokesperson told the BBC that its drones would only be used in their big depots where vandals enter at night and spray paint train carriages so privacy concerns would not be affected.

Detectives from Private Detective Reading often use spy cameras, gadgets and equipment during investigations and surveillance operations to gather evidence and to assist them. These small infra- red devices would be of great assistance to the detectives as they could access areas that were inaccessible. Using these infra-red drone cameras will go a long way in providing the evidence that Deutsche Bahn can hopefully use to stop the expensive vandalism. The use of GPS tracking devices, especially on vehicles aids the detectives by pinpointing the exact location of the target and also allowing the detectives to keep a larger distance during the surveillance. Hidden cameras and CCTV act as another pair of eyes and ears for the investigators giving them a bigger picture of what is happening during the operation.
