NorthPointe Hospitality Management, LLC announces hotel management contract with the Oceanside Inn & Suites – Jekyll Island, GA

Effective May 1st, 2013 NorthPointe Hospitality Management, LLC has taken over the management of the Oceanside Inn & Suites in Jekyll Island, Georgia. This is NorthPointe Hospitality Management’s second hotel management contract in six months and plans to add additional hotels to its portfolio over the next six to twelve months.

“We have worked with NorthPointe over the past three years as both Asset Managers and Hotel Manager’s and looks forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship as the management company of our hotel,” states Rick Patton, owner and principal of the Oceanside Inn & Suites on Jekyll Island, Georgia. This is NorthPointe Hospitality Management's second hotel management agreement as a newly formed company. Its President, Greg Winey and his management team have well over 20 years of multi-property management experience in the hospitality business. “We are delighted and honored to be given the opportunity to run the Oceanside Inn & Suites in beautiful Jekyll Island Georgia,” states Winey. “Mr. Patton and his partners are committed to the future of Jekyll Island and we intend on expanding and further strengthening relationships with the leaders of the Jekyll Island community,” continued Winey.

The Oceanside Inn & Suites on Jekyll Island is currently a 178 room hotel with over 8,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. The property is undergoing an extensive renovation by Georgia Coast Holdings, LLC, and estimates the proposed hotel renovation will likely require 10 months to complete, with a re-opening slated for Spring 2014, at a proposed total project cost of $17 million. As well, the owners have entered into an agreement with InterContinental Hotel Group to become a Holiday Inn Resort.

Upon project completion, the new hotel will offer a premier lodging and hospitality experience on Jekyll Island and will be one of the most family-friendly destinations in the Southeast. After extensive renovation, the hotel will feature 155 completely new, first class contemporary rooms, an extensive fitness center, expanded guest amenities, a high-energy themed swimming pool with an outdoor deck and multiple water-based and beachfront activities, new and enhanced food and beverage outlets, entertainment areas, and expanded meeting facilities. The goal is to transform the property into a casual yet elegant beachfront destination. “We are excited and completely thrilled with the new design concepts and architectural renderings,” stated Rick Patton, owner and principal. “Partnering with Holiday Inn Resorts will make this a perfect fit,” continued Patton. Jason Smith, the hotel’s General Manager for the past eight years, will continue serving in this role. “Jason’s knowledge, experience and relationships he’s forged with Jekyll Island community will be invaluable as the property continues its transition toward a Holiday Inn Resort,” states Greg Winey, President of NorthPointe Hospitality Management.
