Maryland was recently named the top state in the nation for entrepreneurship and innovation. The state has the second highest concentration of STEM employment and adds STEM jobs faster than all but five other states.
With Maryland’s commitment to growth in science, technology, engineering and math, UMBC continues to develop and expand its professional programs to meet the needs of the state’s STEM-centric workforce.
Starting in Fall 2013, UMBC is offering its Master of Professional Studies (MPS) Cybersecurity at The Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville. The cybersecurity program is designed for career-minded professionals, who are ready to make meaningful contributions to the field.
The cybersecurity master’s degree program’s innovative curriculum and practice-oriented instruction provides students with a complete understanding of how to solve complex issues of our time. With exposure to practical managerial and operational consideration needed to conduct cybersecurity activities for large organizations, the program prepares students for the high-demand role of safeguarding innovative companies that thrive in the region.
The UMBC Cybersecurity Master’s Program is hosting a Virtual Info Session on June 19, from 12-1 p.m. Registration for the session can be completed through an online form.
In addition to sharing the program’s curriculum and schedules, Cybersecurity Graduate Program Director Dr. Rick Forno will provide insight to how a Cybersecurity Master’s degree can help accelerate students’ careers in the field.
