The Affordable Care Act (ACA) imposes significant compliance and cost challenges for employers generally, but especially those for those employers contracting with the federal government. This 90-minute webinar will focus on the unique challenges facing government contractors in complying with various aspects of the health reform law, including what is commonly referred to as the Act’s employer mandate or “pay or play” provisions. The webinar will also discuss strategies that may be available to contractors to assist them in complying with the new rules, as well as controlling costs, including those costs arising under a respective contract or otherwise.

Seth Perretta is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office and leads the firm’s employee benefits practice. Seth advises clients on a wide range of federal tax and ERISA matters regarding employee benefits. Seth is a recognized expert on the new health reform law, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), and he regularly speaks to client groups and professional organizations regarding the implications of PPACA for employers and issuers. Seth also speaks regularly on a host of other employee benefits matters including executive compensation arrangements, qualified retirement and pension plans, and federal income and payroll tax considerations. Seth is the past Chair of the Employee Benefits Committee of the District of Columbia Bar, Tax Section. He received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his law degree from NYU School of Law where he served as an Associate Editor of The New York University Law Review.
Steve McBrady is a Counsel in Crowell & Moring’s Government Contracts Group, based in Washington, D.C. Steve’s practice focuses on a wide range of federal and state procurement matters, contract formation and business risk assessments, compliance counseling, investigations of potential civil and criminal matters, litigation and alternative dispute resolution, as well as counseling contractors regarding major legislative initiatives like the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Steve received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, and his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School.
