Birkenfeld, Oregon (PRWEB) May 30, 2013
Talk about a kickstart into the summer! The Birk has been providing live music since 2009 and has grown from featuring garage bands to showcasing national acts. This 103 year old building was built with old growth timber which is a natural for great acoustics and owner Mike Ingraham has turned the business from an old country store to a beautiful rustic music venue in the little town of Birkenfeld, Oregon. The 7500 square foot building on Hwy 202 was a dance hall back in the day where the logging community would hop the Kerry Train for Saturday night dances. Well, several years later the ol' girl (The Birk) is hosting dance night again only on the first floor and music lovers travel up to 75 miles to enjoy an evening of great music, seeing old friends and making new friends. When walking through The Birk door there is a warm magical presence for both first timers and Birk regulars.
June kicks off with Ray Tarantino on Saturday starting at 3pm followed by Rootjack for Saturday dance night and Sunday afternoon show 2-5pm. Rootjack debuted at The Birk early May after opening up for Blackberry Smoke. Johnny Outlaw & The Johnson Creek Stranglers whom have been traveling all over the US will perform June 8 at 7pm and Sunday, June 9 at 2pm. June 15 will be Cedar Teeth for a birthday party for Brewer John of Astoria Brewing. A very special celebration of life for owner Wendy Ingraham's brother Scott, who recently passed unexpectedly, will be held June 22 starting at noon. Elaine Ryan will be on her Album Release Tour with Maui Songstress Sebrina Barron and will perform outdoors from 1-4pm followed by Hot Tea Cold for Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
