The Grommet, an online shopping site and product launch platform for innovative and undiscovered products, is working with French company to feature Y-Ply, lightweight lounger. The Grommet is proud to support this innovative company and its problem solving solution.
At a beach on the Bay of Biscay in La Rochelle, France, a group of friends discovered that an ordinary fisherman’s stool made a great prop for lounging. From that first idea to the final prototype, Denis Fritsch has worked to create a minimalist outdoor accessory that marries comfort with portability. Called Y-Ply, his invention is a collapsible, hammock-like stool that can be positioned in different ways, depending on how someone wants to relax. It’s simple, lightweight and flexible -- ready to pack or unpack at a moment’s notice.
Simply unfold Y-Ply and click the legs into position. It can be used as a pillow or headrest or can be positioned behind the lower back for a little extra support while sitting. Y-Ply is made of washable canvas, and it folds into a compact carrying case.
Bringing a lounge chair to a beach, campsite or outdoor concert sounds like a great idea, but it’s not always practical to lug a heavy chair to a faraway setting. Blankets and towels are easier to pack, but aren't as comfortable. For the best of both worlds -- comfort and portability -- Y-Ply is the answer.
About The Grommet
The Grommet is a highly curated online marketplace and launch platform for products of great utility, style or inventions that haven’t hit the big-time yet. The Grommet seeks out these unique products, carefully tests them, and produces a video review of each one telling the story behind its creation. The Grommet is rooted in the philosophy of Citizen Commerce whereby regular people form the commerce experience by suggesting products that reflect their values and interests. Citizen Commerce turns the typical top down retailer approach sideways, encourages global product innovation from small producers, and satisfies the consumer’s need to know the stories behind and origins of favorite products. The company was also just named one of the hottest sites of 2013 by Internet Retailer. For more information, visit http://www.TheGrommet.com.
