No More Poverty announces its support of Global Family, a nonprofit that rescues and cares for abused, oppressed and abandoned children within the context of family. With 100 percent of designated donations benefitting those in need, Global Family provides programs for education, family care, and the prevention of human trafficking in the countries of India, Nepal, and Myanmar.

“Children need a strong familial foundation in order to thrive, and unfortunately, too many children in poverty-stricken nations have to survive on the streets without any guidance,” says Dr. Michael Omidi, co-founder of No More Poverty. “What makes Global Family unique is its dedication to finding the families and caregivers for these children in addition to helping them with their other needs. No More Poverty is honored to support this organization, and we hope we can help them achieve their very noble mission.”

Global Family (http://www.myglobalfamily.org) began 20 years ago when founders Clark and Jennifer Jensen visited India and saw children living in devastating conditions. Many children had to live on the streets and scavenge for food; others were being trafficked and sexually exploited. The couple built an organization for the purpose of not only rescuing and educating these children, but also finding permanent homes and families for those without parents or guardians.

Today, Global Family's rescue centers have aided hundreds of children, saving them from the horrors of trafficking and crushing poverty. Their shelters work closely with local authorities to restore children back with their families as soon as possible or to find children with no parents a secure, permanent residence.

No More Poverty (http://www.nmp.org) is a not-for-profit charity organization (with a pending 501(c)3 application) founded by brothers Dr. Michael Omidi and Julian Omidi. The organization seeks to end poverty at home and abroad by supporting the efforts of like-minded charities and agencies. Current efforts are focused on increasing awareness of and donations to charities already doing great work to address poverty and its staggering effects throughout the world. The plan is to expand our activities to include fostering business development and job creation in disenfranchised areas.
