"To fully support automating UIs based on QML2/QtQuick2 we put significant work into our Qt/QML module and are excited to have customers using it already", Stefan Gehn, froglogic's Qt lead

Squish GUI Tester is the market leading tool for cross-platform and cross-device GUI test automation on desktop, embedded and mobile platforms used by more than 3000 companies world-wide. The Squish for Qt Edition places a professional GUI automation solution in the hands of Qt developers and testers utilizing the different Qt-based GUI technologies on all types of desktop platforms and embedded devices.
After the release of Qt 5.0 at the end of 2012, froglogic quickly made Squish for Qt builds available supporting the new Qt version for automated testing. Qt 5.0 introduced QML2/QtQuick2 as a new technology, providing a declarative way of building custom and highly dynamic user interfaces with fluid transitions and effects; an increasingly common approach, especially in embedded and mobile devices.
In the upcoming Squish 5.0 release, froglogic now includes support for automated testing of pure QML2/QtQuick2 applications as well as mixed Qt (Widgets) and QML2/QtQuick2 applications using Squish for Qt. The new support comes in addition to continued and improved support for automation of Qt Widgets-based applications built with Qt 3.x, Qt 4.x or Qt 5.x as well as QML1 applications.
"We already added support for the first version of QML/QtQuick, which became available in later Qt 4.x releases, with Squish for Qt 4.x. The new QML2/QtQuick2, which was made available with Qt 5.0, underwent significant changes and improvements in its internal architecure. To fully support automating user interfaces based on this new technology, we put significant work into our Qt/QML module and are excited to already have customers using it today." says Stefan Gehn, froglogic's Qt lead developer.
Squish for Qt's QML2/QtQuick2 support comes with the same feature set currently available in Squish for Qt and other Squish editions: convenient test script recording, flexible scripting capabilities, powerful Eclipse-based test development environment integration, and more. Not to mention, dedicated support for all controls in the QML2/QtQuick2 tookit.
Squish for Qt with QML2/QtQuick2 support will be available as part of the upcoming Squish 5.0 release, and is already used by several of froglogic's major customers.
