"We knew this was going to be great but it's way better than we even expected!" Rainbow Trout Ranch guest B. Shippe, VA
Antonito, CO (PRWEB) May 30, 2013
Historic guest ranch Rainbow Trout Ranch welcomed the first guests to the ranch on Sunday May 26th for their 21st season.
Upon arrival, guests are shown to their private cabins loosely scattered in the aspen and ponderosa pines around the massive main lodge. Most meals are taken in the lodge although there are several cookouts throughout the week as well as all-day rides or the whitewater rafting trip when they pack a lunch to take with them. There is a pool and hot-tub on the extensive grounds and parents marvel at giving their kids complete freedom to roam without worrying.
An orientation is given on Sunday night to acquaint guests and staff and give an overview of the week. On Monday morning, there is a horse orientation stressing safety and horsemanship, and soon after, guests ride out in families or groups.
First time guest Betty Shippe from Virginia, at the ranch with three grandchildren, says, "We knew this was going to be great but it's way better than we even expected!"
During their week, guests are able to ride, hike and fish as much as they want in addition to the kids' and youth programs offered. Evenings include activities such as horse drawn hayrides, dancing, a western entertainer, star gazing, singalong and plenty of porch time, both at the lodge or the cabins.
