Anson-Stoner Selected to Develop Orlando’s Business Brand

Orlando, Florida, is in search of a stronger business brand identity. A Regional Branding Committee has selected the creative agency to lead this process.

"Orlando is well known but poorly understood," said Rick Weddle, President and CEO of the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission.

Today the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC) announced that Anson-Stoner, a Winter Park, Fla.-based creative agency, was selected to develop the Orlando region’s business brand after an extensive review process by the Regional Branding Committee, a group of more than 20 local branding experts in the region.

“We need to build the belief that Orlando has established (and nurtures) an environment where businesses thrive,” said Ken Potrock, Senior Vice President & General Manager of Disney Vacation Club and Adventures by Disney who is chairing the Regional Branding Committee.

“Orlando is well known but poorly understood,” said Rick Weddle, President & CEO of the Metro Orlando EDC. “Despite having the key ingredients companies look for when relocating their business, there is a perceived lack of economic diversity in the region that prevents us from getting in the consideration set of our targets.”

Potrock said, “Our goal is to develop a global brand that creates the image of Orlando as a unique and dynamic business location in the minds of our target audiences and we’re confident in the abilities of Anson-Stoner to help us create that identity.”

“The region’s new business brand will tell the story of the region in bold and powerful new ways – and drive stronger, more engaged interest from companies, employees and residents,” said Andrew Anson, President of Anson-Stoner. “We will work to ensure Orlando has its rightful place on the consideration set for executives and consultants making these strategic business-location decisions.”

The roll out of the business brand is intended for the beginning of next year.
