Officers and Four Directors Begin New Terms

Nadège Nguyen, Partner with Gide Loyrette Nouel A.A.R.P.I., Lex Mundi member firm for France, was elected Chair of Lex Mundi by the organization’s Board of Directors during the 2013 Lex Mundi Leadership Summit and Annual Meeting in Amsterdam. Lex Mundi is the world’s leading network of independent law firms with 160 member firms and more than 21,000 lawyers worldwide.

Ms. Nguyen is a partner in Gide's Mergers-Acquisitions/Corporate Department in Paris and has served on Lex Mundi’s Board of Directors since 2010.

Lex Mundi’s Board of Directors also elected Keith Vaughan of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, LLP, (USA, North Carolina) to the position of Chair-Elect, Paulo Coelho da Rocha of Demarest Advogados, (Brazil) to the position of Secretary, and James DeMent of Baker Botts L.L.P, (USA, Texas) to the position of Treasurer.

Christel Van den Eynden of Liedekerke Wolters Waelbroeck Kirkpatrick, (Belgium) and Rob Granatstein of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, (Canada, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec ) will serve on the Executive Committee along with Ms. Nguyen, Mr. Vaughan, Mr. DeMent, Keith Simmons of Bass, Berry & Sims PLC, (Tennessee), the out-going Chair, and Carl Anduri, Lex Mundi’s President.

At the same Annual Meeting, the membership elected four new directors to the Lex Mundi Board of Directors: Amjad Khan of Afridi & Angell, (United Arab Emirates), Andrew Ong of Rajah & Tann LLP, (Singapore), Andrew Smulian of Akerman Senterfitt,(USA, Florida), and Sebastian Iribarne of Marval, O'Farrell & Mairal,(Argentina). They will serve four-year terms.
