Everblue partnered with LaPolla Industries, Inc. to provide Building Performance Institute (BPI) training to its national network of certified licensed applicators in the AirTight Home Retrofit Program.

LaPolla, a leading global spray foam systems manufacturer, pioneered the AirTight Home Retrofit Program for the home performance auditing industry. This program trains contractors how to correctly install spray foam products to improve a home’s energy efficiency. AirTight SprayFoam Insulation, a division of Lapolla Industries, Inc., contracts directly with the homeowner as a BPI accredited firm to provide homeowners with the highest standards relating to health and safety in the industry.

Contractors in the AirTight Home Retrofit Program must go through hands-on training before they can become licensed professionals. The program requires each licensed installer to be BPI certified. AirTight designated Everblue as the preferred training provider for its BPI training needs. Everblue will teach the BPI Insulation and Air Sealing Technician class to all of AirTight’s potential contractors.

“LaPolla chose Everblue as the preferred training provider because of our quality assurance efforts and vast network of BPI students,” said Cadi Saunders, Everblue’s business development manager. “Everblue trains each instructor individually, which ensures that each student receives the same learning experience.”

In a struggling economy, homeowners turn to energy efficiency retrofitting to save on utility bills. The AirTight Home Retrofit Program provides highly qualified contractors who understand the needs of each customer from firsthand experience. Through this partnership, Everblue and AirTight hope to offer quality contractors to homeowners interested in improving their home’s energy performance.
