Synacor’s new office is located on Technology Park Drive in Westford—neighbor to IBM, Juniper, Sonus, Akamai, and many others, and well-situated between Boston, Cambridge, Worcester and Nashua—and will support Synacor’s rapid innovation helping consumers connect to their favorite TV shows, movies, music, games and sports, on the device of their choosing.

Tapping into Boston’s rich pool of tech talent, the expansion is projected to produce up to 25 new jobs, including openings for software engineers, software quality assurance (SQA) engineers, project managers, scrum masters and user experience engineers, all working in an agile development environment. Synacor’s Westford office is led by Synacor SVP, Software Engineering, Steve Davi.

“We’re growing right along with the demand for our products and services, and Synacor’s Boston-area office is key to that growth,” said Davi. “Raw brainpower, top universities, culture of innovation—Boston has it all—offering Synacor experienced engineers, well-educated talent and top-flight partners that can help fuel continued innovation for Synacor as well as new opportunities for Boston.”

In Boston, the team focuses on a single ID that unlocks all of a consumer’s media and communications. Synacor products are LAMP-based, and the company uses technology such as Java, Javascript, PHP, MongoDB, Cassandra, and HTML5 in an agile/scrum environment using Atlassian tools.

“We are looking for great people to join our team who will enjoy the freedom to do the work they were hired to do. If you have a passion for technology and want to work on next-gen products and services that could make it into 26 million living rooms and onto your own laptops, tablets and smartphones, then check us out and apply.
