Love, Sex & Missed Connections rivals any big budget comedy. Cassavetes meets Judd Apatow! - Larry Charles (Director of Borat, Bruno)
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 30, 2013
"Love, Sex and Missed Connections" has the type of independent film story that inspires thousands of filmmakers and actors to want to go out and make a movie. The quirky, charming comedy surprise was made on a micro-budget, but with a talented cast and crew from the likes of comedy film hits "Borat," "Bruno," and the television hit "Parks and Recreation."
The story revolves around Neal, knee deep in a quarter life crisis and trying to get over a traumatic break up by following his supportive friends absurd scheme to woo lonely women who are waiting for their lost suitors via the missed connections community board on Craigslist. To the amazement of the trio of guys, the plan goes amazingly well for Neal until he meets Jane, who just may be as devious and damaged as he is.
"Love, Sex and Missed Connections" has won a slew of awards on the festival circuit and has taken the filmmakers across the country and to Europe. MouseTrap Films acquired distribution and found the film a perfect fit for its Film Festival Flix monthly event platform.
"Even though the words “missed connections” are in the title, it feels like this movie just keepscreating more and more connections." said Producer Lisa Rudin. "We premiered at the 36th annual Cleveland International Film Festival and moving on to Indie Spirit and Boston International Film Festivals, we are excited to see where Film Festival Flix takes us next." said Rudin.
Film Festival Flix will premiere "Love, Sex and Missed Connections" in six cities during the month of June with the cast and filmmakers representing at all of the red carpet events and after-parties.
"This a great indie film comedy and Film Festival Flix is so happy to be introducing film audiences to the next generation of comedians in film. We're very confident Kenny Stevenson will be as big as Ed Helms from The Hangover in a short time." said Film Festival Flix's Benjamin Oberman.
"Love, Sex and Missed Connections" screens in Los Angeles June 5th at Regal Cinema's L.A. Live and June 6th in North Hollywood at The Laemmle NoHo 7.
