We’re excited to be carrying the Summer 2013 collection, which features a lot of fresh looks for both men and women.
Boston, MA (PRWEB) May 30, 2013
Karmaloop, the leading online retailer of urban fashion and streetwear for the Verge Culture, today announced it will retail the Summer 2013 collection from Obey clothing, the label founded and designed by legendary graffiti artist Shepard Fairey.
“Obey is one of the biggest and most influential streetwear brands on the market,” said Greg Selkoe, Karmaloop’s founder and president. “We’re excited to be carrying the Summer 2013 collection, which features a lot of fresh looks for both men and women.”
As one of the best-known street artists in the world, Shepard Fairey gained national attention for his Barack Obama Hope poster during the 2008 presidential campaign. He founded Obey Clothing in 2001 as an extension of his art and aesthetic, with designs heavily inspired by classic military design and work wear basics, and featuring graphic T-shirts with new and classic artwork by Fairey himself.
“Shepard’s designs are a mash up influences from punk to skateboarding and commercial marketing to political messaging,” said Selkoe. “The Summer 2013 collection of Obey clothes continues the tradition of mixing counterculture looks with Shepard’s biting humor. For men there’s a nice selection of new graphic t-shirts and tanks, as well as polos, short-sleeve buttondowns and shorts. And women will find a lot of new hot looks, with tanks and sleeveless shirts, summer dresses and bikini tops and bottoms.”
The Obey Summer collection for men includes Obey t-shirts like the Jealous Again Vintage Thrift Tee, a lightweight, slim fit semi-sheer Obey tee with a custom graphic screen print on the front, and The Barista Pocket Tee, a slim fit pocket Obey t-shirt featuring a lightweight yarn dyed striped fabrication, available in three timeless colors. Other Obey shirts include The Destroyer, a slim fit, short-sleeved woven with Obey original tiger or field camouflage print, and the Far Out Shirt, a regular fit henley overshirt with double chest pockets, button closures and an ethnic print on the front placket for a touch of contrast. Obey hats include the Circle Patch 5 Panel Hat, a 5-panel hat that is fabricated on durable cotton with a merrowed edge Obey patch, and snapbacks like the Drank Snapback Hat with direct embroidery and rope detail on the brim.
The women’s collectionincludes pieces like the Obey Serpant Moto Tank, a relaxed fitting tank with cut off armholes for a gritty aesthetic and custom Obey graphic screenprints for a vintage look. Also available, The Thrifted St. Germaine Overshirt in lightweight denim-look fine twill with a bleached wash. And the Free Fallin’ Tank, a psychedelic cut off tee with a custom Obey American flag tie-dye wash.
Karmaloop also carries a wide range of Obey jackets, jeans, sweaters, and sweatshirts.
