The annual LIGHTFAIR International (LFI) is one of Littman Bros' favorite trade shows in the industry; Littman Bros anticipated this year to be one of the biggest LFI trade shows in its history. Those projections were correct; the 24th edition of the LIGHTFAIR International trade shows broke records with its attendance with more than 26 thousand registered guests.

Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr., President and Chief Operating Officer of LFI managing partner AMC Inc., said that LFI set new all-time attendance and trade show records for its five day run in Philadelphia April 21-25.

LFI has become the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference and this year they absolutely owned up to that title.

According to lightfair.com, “The LFI 2013 trade show floor covered a record 233,850 new square feet and spotlighted 538 exhibitors, including 91 first-time exhibiting companies and 90 manufacturers headquartered outside the U.S.”

Attendance broke all previous records with 26,026 professional attendees registered, including representatives from 79 countries.

LIGHTFAIR International is sponsored by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and is produced by AMC, Inc. LFI has been acknowledged by its standing within the Trade Show News Network (TSNN) 2013 listing of the Top 25 Fastest-Growing Trade Shows for Net Square Footage and 2012 listing of the top 250 U.S. Trade Shows, according to a recent press release on lightfar.com. LFI has also been listed as a Trade Show Executive (TSE) 2012 Gold 100 honoree.

This year the LFI Conference made some additions and changes to the 2013 program – those additions included the expansion into Hall F of the Pennsylvania Convention Center; two new product categories, solar power and software; as well as the unveiling of the Exterior & Roadway Lighting Pavilion.

All of these new supplements and extensions to the program allowed all involved in the LFI 2013 experience to be a part of an educational and developed trade show that emphasized the importance of “new lighting technologies, new product resources, a robust networking schedule and innovations specific to environmental lighting.”

LFI also offered attendees 66 accredited course and more than 200 hours of educational programming along with keynote speakers James Ramsey and Vinod Khosla. A program that continued its popularity was the LFI Innovation Awards, which each year honors the latest in lighting-related products and designs. Some of the winners this year include Philips Luminaires for the Indoor Decorative and Commercial Indoor lighting category and Tech Lighting for the Dynamic Color, Theatrical, Cove, Strips and Tape lighting category.

LIGHTFAIR International continues to expand and improve with its attendance and trade show records as well as develop the program each year. LFI gives its guests amazing opportunities and the chance to network with the widest range of authorities in this industry.
