Raleigh, North Carolina (PRWEB) May 30, 2013
Corporate Chaplains of America, the leading provider of bringing care and compassion to the workplace through its corporate chaplain service, today announced that after an 18-year tenure as Founder/CEO, Dr. Mark Cress will step down as the ministry’s Chief Executive Officer at the end of 2013, or earlier if a successor is named. Dr. Cress and the Board made this decision jointly as part of the Corporate Chaplains of America business and multi-year succession planning efforts. Following his departure, Mark will remain on the Board of Directors as Chairman and intends to continue to be active in the workplace ministry movement, as well as devoting time to pursue his interests in advising emerging growth organizations.
“On behalf of the Board and everyone at Corporate Chaplains of America, I want to thank Mark for his leadership, dedication, innumerable contributions and daily commitment to the Lord and this organization,” said board member Garheng Kong, MD, PhD. “With guidance from the Lord, he and his management team have successfully created from the ground up a powerful platform for sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ in the largest mission field around the world, the workplace. Through his stewardship and leadership during the formative stages of the ministry, Corporate Chaplains of America has emerged as a catalyst in the workplace ministry movement and we are excited to see what God will do in the future. We appreciate Mark’s commitment and dedication to Corporate Chaplains of America through this process and are excited he will serve as Chairman of the Board and as a valuable member devoted to its continued growth.”
During Dr. Cress’s stewardship and with much prayer, Corporate Chaplains of America has become:
-An extraordinary non-profit organization; with strong management processes and financial controls, and over 150 team members serving and caring daily for 300,000 plus employees and families in over 36 states here in the United States, as well as internationally.
-A twenty-one acre ministry campus in Wake Forest, North Carolina anchored by a twenty-four thousand square foot National Training and Chaplain Support Center.
-A market leading corporate chaplaincy agency serving companies from 25 employees to 13,000 employees across all major vertical markets.
-The model for full-time chaplaincy that includes the industry’s most comprehensive chaplain recruiting, hiring and training program.
“It has been an honor to serve God and this organization as Corporate Chaplains of America’s Founder & CEO for the past 18 years, and to work with the finest chaplains, employees, and leadership team in ministry,” said Cress. “I am ever so thankful to the world class companies we serve and humbled for the opportunity to have led and been a part of such a special organization that has impacted owners, employees and families with the life changing Good News of Jesus Christ. I believe wholeheartedly God has shown me that now is the right time to select a new leader for the next season of Corporate Chaplains of America’s operational development and growth strategy. Relative to succession, our Board’s goal has always been to honor God and provide a model for other ministries and businesses. I will work with the Board to help identify the best possible candidate to serve as Corporate Chaplains of America’s next CEO and to ensure that this transition is seamless for all of our stakeholders. I am confident in God’s sovereignty and that when the time comes, I will transition the ministry into the hands of the new CEO as well as Jeff Hilles, current President & COO. I’m certain our strong team will continue to serve God to His glory and build on the foundation of what God has done here at Corporate Chaplains of America.”
The Board of Directors has formed a search committee and will potentially engage a nationally recognized search firm to help identify the best candidate to serve as CEO as expeditiously as possible.
