Gimmal, the world’s leading provider of enterprise-class information governance, certified records management, and SAP integration software solutions built on Microsoft SharePoint, is excited to announce that the Gimmal Compliance Suite for Microsoft SharePoint is now the only native SharePoint solution certified against Chapter 3 of the Department of Defense (DoD) 5015.2 standard for records management. The Compliance Suite has also been re-certified for Chapters 2 and 5.
The DoD 5015.2 standard defines the basic requirements that are based on operational, legislative and legal needs that must be met by records management application products acquired by the DoD. The stringent testing is conducted by the Joint Interoperability Test Command, part of the Defense Information Systems Agency that tests information technology and national security systems. Meeting the testing requirements of the DoD standard grants software solutions, and the vendors that provide them, with a unique seal of approval that many organizations require when evaluating enterprise information management software. More information about the certification is available at http://jitc.fhu.disa.mil/cgi/rma/reg.aspx.
“With DoD 5015.2 certification for chapters 2, 3 and 5, Gimmal continues to demonstrate commitment to provide certified solutions on Microsoft’s most current platforms to both commercial and government organizations,” David Quackenbush, president of Gimmal, explains. “Our software helps organizations standardize on SharePoint as the primary content and records management repository in the enterprise. Even organizations that do not need all of the features of the DoD 5015.2 standard find the additional capabilities that Gimmal adds to SharePoint critical to their information management programs.”
With the Gimmal Compliance Suite for Microsoft SharePoint, organizations can rely on a highly productive, scalable and efficient solution that extends SharePoint with features that eliminate the need to train users to classify records. Organizations no longer need to implement third-party repositories in addition to SharePoint and can simplify their infrastructure and dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of improving information management.
By investing in the DoD 5015.2 certification process, Gimmal demonstrates continued commitment in delivering better information management for everyone in the organization, which is the foundation to ensuring the highest level of legal and regulatory compliance for customers.
