Leading Energy Storage Materials Manufacturer Expands Senior Management Team With Veteran Energy Storage Executive.

EnerG2 (http://www.energ2.com), the leading manufacturer of advanced carbons for next-generation energy storage, today announced that Tom Kieffer is joining the company as Vice President of worldwide sales.

A seasoned executive with a deep and distinguished track record in the transportation and industrial energy storage industries, Kieffer comes to EnerG2 from Altair Nanotechnologies. Altair designs and manufactures large-scale energy storage systems using its proprietary lithium-titanate batteries for electric grid, transportation, and industrial markets.

Prior to Altair, Kieffer held executive positions at Cummins, a global company that designs, manufactures, distributes and services engines and related technologies, including fuel systems, controls, air handling, filtration, emission solutions and electrical power generation systems. Earlier in his career, Kieffer served as a General Manager for the PACCAR business at Cummins.

EnerG2’s Albany plant is the first and only manufacturing facility in the world dedicated to the commercial-scale production of nano-engineered carbon material for high-performance energy storage applications. The 74,000-square-foot plant came online in February 2012. The Albany operation is also ISO 14001:2004 certified. This certification covers all processes related to energy storage manufacturing and research and development at the manufacturing facility.
