Rochester, NY (PRWEB) May 30, 2013
William Mattar of William Mattar Law Offices will work with Flower City Habitat for Humanity during this year's Leaders Build. On Tuesday, June 4th, William Mattar will join other business leaders from the Rochester area to build a home for a family in a poverty-stricken neighborhood.
This year is Flower City Habitat's 14th annual Leaders Build week. It is being held from June 3rd to June 7th in the Jay-Orchard Street Area Neighborhood Association (JOSANA). Dozens of Rochester's CEOs, Presidents, and VIPs like William Mattar are taking this opportunity to give back to the city by physically creating a new place to live. The build sites for Leaders Build week will be located in Rochester's JOSANA area as part of the renewal initiative for the site.
The JOSANA area renewal project began in 2007 as a way to combat the serious problems associated with poverty in the area. Due to the fact that 99 percent of properties in the area were constructed prior to 1950, many of the structures are in very poor condition. No government funds have been allocated to the project so it is being propelled by sponsorships and donations from generous individuals, groups and businesses alike. Due to the efforts of Flower City Habitat, the project has already built 36 homes in the JOSANA area. They hope to average 10 buildings a year and finish 100 homes by the end of the project with the help and support of concerned citizens of Western New York like William Mattar.
