Last Thursday night about twenty defense-technology professionals gathered in Kendall Square, Cambridge to learn about and observe HGH Infrared Systems’ Spynel camera. HGH was the featured company at May’s United 4 Defense meeting – a group that has been gathering steam since it was founded last summer.
Last August, United 4 Defense held their first meeting at the Cambridge Innovation Center in Kendall Square featuring iRobot. Guests and speakers have included active service men, system integrators and esteemed government vendors. United4Defense’s goal is to get local professionals to network and learn about innovative defense-related technologies in a casual, laid-back atmosphere.
“HGH has been an active member of United 4 Defense since the beginning. U4D has brought us a number of professional contacts and we enjoy keeping up with the latest defense technology in a friendly setting,” says Clement Barbier, technical support engineer at HGH Infrared Systems.
HGH Infrared Systems is the perfect fit to headline U4D. An active small prime contractor, HGH’s Spynel-C series camera has been protecting soldiers and assets for over six years. The Spynel panoramic infrared imaging camera systems feature a cooled, high resolution thermal imaging sensor rotating continuously at 1 revolution/sec for total 360° coverage. Guests at U4D were able to witness the Spynel-C as well as see real footage.
