...there simply wasn’t a competitive system out there that would deliver on the distance, throughput, and mobility needs unique to an FPSO deployment like the solutions from BATS.

Broadband Antenna Tracking Systems, (BATS), one of the world's leading innovators of intelligent wireless networking, today announced that their ruggedized self-optimizing wireless nodes were selected for the development of a flexible wireless broadband network for a major oil producer in Malaysia.

BATS will provide an adaptive wireless network utilizing the BTS-90 MARINE antenna system, which will deliver both data and communications for the floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels operated by PETRONAS.

The deal represents the first of many projects slated with BATS partner, ZHR Global, for the Malaysian energy market. ZHR Global offers a wide array of client solutions, by allowing for new advancements in how ZHR Global clients and prospects leverage communications in both fixed and mobile applications without relying heavily on costly satellite alternatives.

“Involving BATS in the deal with PETRONAS was a no-brainer,” said Wan Mohammed Shazly, CEO of ZHR Global. “After reviewing other solutions utilizing omni-directional antennas, or a satellite equivalent – there simply wasn’t a competitive system out there that would deliver on the distance, throughput, and mobility needs unique to an FPSO deployment like the solutions from BATS. “

“We are excited to be christening our partnership with ZHR with this new FPSO network project in Malaysia,” said Phil Cramer, Senior VP of Sales & Marketing at BATS. “Our energy clients operating all over the world are seeing the tremendous value of having a high bandwidth, low latency, and flexible wireless network for their FPSO vessels or deep sea drilling platforms.”

About BATS
Broadband Antenna Tracking Systems (BATS) provides a proprietary software and hardware platform that locates, locks and tracks wireless broadband communication access points. Through the use of its industry-first automated tracking and stabilization platform, BATS enables organizations to rapidly deploy massive capacity (Gb+), uninterrupted, fixed or mobile wireless networks over long distances without skilled technical resources.

Every day- whether on the battlefield, oil field, or airfield, BATS’ technology is proven in some of the harshest environments on earth; providing organizations access to their critical communications. To learn more, visit: http://www.batswireless.com.

About ZHR Global
ZHR GLOBAL has been in the business of oil and gas industry, focusing mainly in telecommunication and offers communication systems for power transmission networks as well.
