Home Care Medical, Inc. one of Wisconsin’s largest and most respected providers of rehab technology; home medical equipment and supplies; respiratory care; and home infusion and specialized nutrition, is pleased to accept the Community Partnership Award from UW-Milwaukee (UWM) College of Health Sciences. The award was presented during the UWM Occupational Science and Technology Awards and Recognition ceremony in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Accepting the award on behalf of Home Care Medical was president, John Teevan and vice president of sales and marketing, Kandy Raether.

Home Care Medical received the award for the Rehab Technology team’s multiple workshops on Power Wheelchairs, Manual Wheelchairs, and Rehab Seating/Positioning which included demonstrations of our new state-of-the-art Pressure Mapping system. The overall goal was to discuss what mobility products are available in the market today and provide students with “hands on” experience. In addition, a “Survivor Occupational Therapy Challenge” was the highlight of the workshops where students had to compete against each other in teams to reassemble a manual wheelchair.

“This prestigious award from UWM illustrates the dedication of our entire Rehab Technology team – especially our two Assistive Technology Professionals, Brian Weir and Dale Schlitt,” explains Kandy Raether, Home Care Medical vice president of sales and marketing. “Their commitment and dedication to serving the needs of the community and to the students of UWM is truly commendable.”
