Through strategic content organization and an intuitive navigation network, we’ve created a powerful website that not only caters directly to our citizens needs, but to the needs of business owners, developers, investors, elected officials, and employees.
Creedmoor, NC (PRWEB) June 06, 2013
The City of Creedmoor, NC has launched a new website. Upon visiting the redesigned website, http://www.cityofcreedmoor.org, it's easy to notice the major improvements that have been made not only to the website’s aesthetics, but also to its overall functionality.
“Our expectations were high for this website redesign,” noted Korena Weichel, the City’s Administrative Services Director. “It was important that we created an attractive website that people would enjoy visiting as well an intuitively navigable site with all of the functionality that people have come to expect from a City website. We feel as though we’ve done exactly that.”
The once dark and confusing homepage has been transformed into an uplifting, dynamic design. The vibrant background images, rotating community slideshow, and eye-catching header animations welcome users with a unique feel for Creedmoor’s way of life.
In order to cater to the many different kinds of individuals that visit the City’s website on a daily basis, special attention was paid to the restructured navigation. The main navigation dropdown menus, a powerful search bar, quick links, interior left-hand navigation, and graphic icons were thoughtfully added to the new design using government website best practices. These tools help to streamline users to the info they need.
“We’ve built a dynamic site that means different things to different people,” continues Korena Weichel, who led the website redesign team. “Through strategic content organization and an intuitive navigation network, we’ve created a powerful website that not only caters directly to our citizens needs, but to the needs of business owners, developers, investors, elected officials, and City employees."
“The improved access to the City’s online services have made all the difference to our Staff members,” continues Ms. Weichel. “With an intuitive navigation system now in place, people are able to find what they need to on the website without getting frustrated. We are fielding far less calls for services that are available on the website and that is a big plus for us.”
There are many new features found throughout Creedmoor’s redeveloped government website. Some of these features include:
- A dynamic calendar system keeps citizens aware of all upcoming community events and City meetings
- A robust document library where important City documents and forms are readably available
- An e-Notification system which users can sign up for email updates tailored to ones specific interests (ie. News, calendar events, jobs, etc.)
- A convenient staff directory allows users to easily find current contact information for City staff workers based on name or department
- Rotating news stories on the dynamic homepage showcase a greater number of new headlines immediately upon entering the website
