JayData, which was first released in 2012 to provide a standard, cross-platform JavaScript data manager library to access and manipulate data from various sources is now a recommended and actively used technology by Microsoft to reach OData-enabled servers and applications.

On the 26th of June, JayData is presenting live on stage during the Microsoft Interoperability Protocols Plugfest 2013 in Redmond. Recognized as the “best thing that has happened to OData", the CEO of JayStack, Peter Zentai, will show how JayData can be used by ISVs or individuals to access OData-enabled system like Dynamics CRM, Systems Center, Project Server or SharePoint. Asad Khan, Senior Program Manager at Microsoft said: “OData is a very hot topic now. ISVs are looking for proven and effective solutions to build products and services. JayData is one such tool and we are very to happy to work with them. The guys behind JayData really contribute to the OData cause, giving us lot of support and making the life of developers easier.”

“JayStack is excited about the broad industry acceptance of the OData protocol and is looking forward to OData becoming an industry standard later this year” said Peter Zentai, CEO of JayStack.

In parallel, Microsoft’s Public Sector Dynamics CRM team relies on JayData to build custom HTML5/JavaScript clients for Dynamics customers. This means that JayData is used for projects, pilots and proof of concepts by Microsoft itself. As Marc Schweigert, Chief Architect of US Public Sector Dynamics said, “JayData is a must have library for any web developer interacting with data from JavaScript. Any .NET developer who is familiar with LINQ enabled data access APIs such as to LINQ to OData or LINQ to Entities will be pleasantly surprised that they can have a similarly productive developer experience through JayData. Now that I use it, I can’t imagine interacting with an OData service from JavaScript without it!”

One of JayData’s most important directions is to continue to support OData with wider and wider functionalities. Besides OData, JayData has out-of-the-box data providers for several other storage platforms like MongoDB, SQLite, WebSQL, IndexedDB, InMemory, Facebook. The next version will include increased support for OData, schema evolution, native support for TypeScript with Generics and a new data flow engine. Release contents and future outlook are often updated on the JayData blog.
