TEAC's accreditation truly affirms the quality of our programs for educators.
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) June 05, 2013
American College of Education, an accredited online college that offers online degree programs for working professionals, is pleased to announce that four of its graduate degree programs for educators have earned national accreditation through the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC). Accreditation was earned for the M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, the M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a Specialization in English as a Second Language or Bilingual Education, the M.Ed. in Educational Leadership, and the M.Ed. in Educational Technology.
“We are so pleased to have national accreditation for four of our programs in addition to our regional accreditation. TEAC’s accreditation truly affirms the quality of our programs for educators,” said American College of Education President Sandra J. Doran.
This seven-year accreditation is the highest level of accreditation issued by TEAC, and it certifies that American College of Education has provided evidence that it adheres to TEAC’s quality principles in all four programs. In October 2012, TEAC announced a merger with the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) to form the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). The national accreditation will transfer to this new accreditation body.
National accreditation through TEAC provides students with additional assurance that they will be well prepared to become effective educators through the school’s online programs. American College of Education has been regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 2005. “TEAC’s process is rigorous, and their focus is on quality. We are so proud to have the approval of such a highly regarded accreditor,” said Dr. Shawntel Landry, Associate Provost.
Tuition for American College of Education’s nationally accredited, online master’s degree programs is $215 per semester credit, or $7,955 for total program tuition. Please visit http://www.ace.edu/map to learn more about program availability.
