University of Washington Golf Standout Karinn Dickinson to Compete in Her First USGA Championship at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, NY

Karinn Dickinson, a professional golfer playing out of Pronghorn Club in Bend, OR, qualified for the 2013 U.S. Women's Open to be held at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, NY on June 24-30, 2013. The 2011 University of Washington graduate shot rounds of 72 and 74 at Waverly Country Club in Portland, OR to be one of two players to move on to compete in the United States Golf Association (USGA) championship.

“This is something I’ve always wanted and it’s very gratifying to know all my hard work is paying off,” said Dickinson, who won the Washington State Women's Amateur Championship in 2012 and the Washington State Tournament of Champions in 2013. “I’m mostly excited to have the opportunity to test my game against the world’s best players on one of golf’s biggest stages.”

Dickinson, who was born in Bellevue, WA and grew up in Norway, attended the University of Washington on a golf scholarship. Since graduating in 2011, she has played on the Cactus Tour in Phoenix, AZ and worked part-time as a caddie at Pronghorn Club, where she has been under the guidance and mentorship of PGA Head Professional Joey Pickavance.

“There are so many ingredients to making a champion golfer and I think Karinn is well on her way,” said Pickavance. “Pronghorn has been an ideal place for her to advance her skills. It offers unparalleled practice facilities and two incredible courses that have allowed her to hone every aspect of her game.”
