Beat Girl shares the story of a young girl (played by Louise Dylan) as she is torn between her late mother’s dreams of her getting a place in the prestigious Julliard performing arts School and becoming a world class pianist and the pulsating world of Electronic dance music. Pursuing the dream she has always loved, she gets carried away by the enticing underground world of DJ-ing and eventually finds herself torn between two worlds of music.
This coming of age story is produced by beActive and created by Emmy-nominated writer-producer Nuno Bernardo. The Beat Girl game is available to download via iphone and android, the book is available on Amazon and the webseries on Youtube.
It all started in May 2012, one year before the film and series was even released, with a picture storyboard created on Pintrest and trended in the top 10 profiles of 2012 on this new social media network. Then it was extended with three web series, social media content, mobile games, a mini-TV series, eBooks, a film and novels and an audience was conquered on different platforms and countries.
