Snowmass Mammoth Fest Kicks off The Summer in Snowmass Village, Colorado This Weekend, June 7 and June 8, 2013

Snowmass Tourism is proud to announce this year’s new festival location, featuring more great music, on-site camping, and new event managers, SBG Productions, the founders and producers of Telluride Blues & Brews Festival in Telluride, CO. The 2013 festival will feature two days of music, late night shows, and continue the traditional weekend of specialty chili and microbrew competitions with tastings.

Snowmass Mammoth Fest kicks off the summer festival season this Friday and Saturday in Snowmass Village, Colorado. A weekend of great music awaits concert-goers with two jam-packed days of Music, Chili and Brews. Festival gates will open at 4pm on Friday, June 7th at the new festival venue, Snowmass Town Park. Along with an amazing weekend of music, the Snowmass Mammoth Fest will host the renowned Chili and Brew competitions and tastings on Friday at 5:00 and on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The festival also offers on site camping, late night shows, crafts from local and regional artisans and food from the area’s top vendors and restaurants.

Friday night’s lineup will feature headliner Return to the Dark side of the Moon, a legendary group of all-star funk-and-fusion musicians, featuring Melvin Gibbs (Defunkt, Henry Rollins); singers Corey Glover (Living Colour, Galactic); Nona Hendryx (Labelle) plus guitarist Blackbyrd McKnight (Parliament Funkadelic, Red Hot Chili Peppers); saxophonist Karl Denson (Lenny Kravitz); keyboardist Bernie Worrell (Parliament Funkadelic, Talking Heads); and drummer Sim Cain (Henry Rollins), as they explore the 40th Anniversary of Pink Floyd’s Dark side of the Moon. Saturday night’s headliner will feature Los Angeles based indie rock artist, AwolNation. Additional festival weekend performances will include JJ Grey & Mofro, The Joy Formidable, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, STRFKR, twenty one pilots, Lord Huron, and You, Me & Apollo.

After the festival ends in Town Park, the music continues at 11PM on both Friday and Saturday nights at the “Village Vibe" late night shows, located at Base Camp Bar & Grill (Base Village) and Venga Venga (Village Mall). Village Vibe passes allow access to both venues for the night purchased. See two bands for the price of one!

Tickets for Two-Day, Single Day, Village Vibe, and Camping passes are currently on sale. Two-Day passes are $80 each, Friday Single Day tickets are $35 each, and Saturday tickets are $55 each.
