Many came very early from San Jose, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, and many other areas waiting in line for these services in hopes of getting help with cavities, tooth pain, and if lucky, dentures. Millions of Californians have no dental insurance, that means there are currently over 3 million adults uninsured in California and with the current state of the economy, there is little hope of Legislature adding funds to the budget to cover it in the near future.
Dr. Ratna Indah and her Sunnyvale dental staff saw firsthand the benefits of this event, seeing the joy on the faces of those who received these services, was thanks enough. This was the first year that the CDA Cares event was held in San Jose. Dr. Indah stated that she hopes this event will be continued every year. There are just so many people that need dental care and cannot afford to get it.
