By 2014, mobile internet usage will surpass desktop usage.
San Luis Obispo, CA (PRWEB) June 01, 2013
When it comes to San Luis Obispo web design, there's a new option that makes it easier for customers to find local businesses. It's called responsive design.
Access Publishing rolled out a new website design strategy this week called "Mobile First." "Mobile First means creating websites that are interactive and display well on smaller screens," says Scott Brennan, founder of Access Publishing. "We achieve this strategy by building sites with responsive design. It means thinking about the mobile user first when creating a design and choosing a template."
"More than 50 percent of online inquiries for local information is coming from mobile devices," he says. "But less than 10 percent of companies have websites that display well on smaller screens."
Responsive design is making a web page appear the same across all devices, such as desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile platforms and screen sizes without compromising content or images.
Mobile internet users are expected to more than double from 800 million in 2010 to 1.9 billion by 2015, Brennan says. By 2014, mobile internet usage will surpass desktop usage, he says.
Responsive design is a Mobile First strategy that increases reach to tablet and mobile audiences while maintaining traditionally viewers, Brennan says. It helps companies increase sales and conversion rates. It creates a consistent user experience, devoid of redirections. It means business owners can manage one website with a single set of links.
The new web site service is part of Access Publishing's suite of online marketing services for small businesses based in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Atascadero, Arroyo Grande, Pismo Beach and Cambria.
