Benefits scheduled for June 5 to raise funds for American Red Cross

Abuelo’s Mexican restaurants will host a benefit fundraiser in 12 of its restaurants on Wednesday, June 5 from 3 p.m. to closing to raise funds to help the residents and businesses of tornado-ravaged Moore, Okla. Additionally, Abuelo’s Taqueria, the company’s new fast casual concept located in Lubbock, will also participate in the fundraiser on June 5.

Each of the restaurants located throughout Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and Texas will donate 20 percent of food sales during the event to help the victims of the recent Oklahoma tornadoes. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross disaster relief effort for Oklahoma.

“Everyone in the Abuelo’s family is fully committed to aiding the Oklahoma tornado victims,” said Robert Lin, president of Food Concepts International, Abuelo’s parent company. “We hope our guests will join us in this effort to help raise funds to rebuild this heartland community in their time of great need. We are so thankful to the Red Cross for all they have done in Oklahoma during this disaster, as well as their efforts elsewhere.”
