Mobile Inspections are a critical part of due diligence in modern property management, yet have been historically under-supported by available technology solutions.

Building Engines, global provider of comprehensive mobile and web-based real estate and facility operations management solutions, announced the release of Version 2.0 of its Inspections Manager that will provide the most feature-rich mobile inspections solution on the market. The new release turns inspections data into actionable intelligence by empowering facility teams to take immediate action and report on inspection results and establish targets and escalations that allow management by exception.

Building Engines users could already leverage powerful mobile technology to complete inspections from any mobile device- even in basements and areas of no connectivity. The new functionality is designed to make inspections data actionable in-the-moment, when it matters most, and improve the insight and efficiency of management personnel.

Maintenance teams have the flexibility to complete inspections from any mobile device, schedule or create ad-hoc inspections in-the-field, and initiate work orders immediately upon failed inspection points. Management personnel are delivered inspections data that helps them to ensure that follow-up work is completed, or informs of missed performance targets. This data is delivered through automated escalations and notifications and rich visual summary reporting in the Inspections Analytics Dashboard.

Other unique-to-market inspections features include the ability to capture photos from a mobile device to augment documentation or historical reference, export branded inspection reports, and score inspections to evaluate performance against benchmarks. The flexible Inspection Editor uses a familiar drag-and-drop tool to build inspections and is the first of its kind to directly integrate with work order, equipment and preventive maintenance management.

“Mobile Inspections are a critical part of due diligence in modern property management, yet have been historically under-supported by available technology solutions,” said Jim Gray, VP of Product at Building Engines. “Teams have been forced to rely on manual methods, resulting in scattered processes, incomplete audits, lost data, and lingering service issues. Building Engines Mobile Inspections v2.0 changes all of that with a mature and complete mobile solution.”
