Queen of the Valley Medical Center has received the Women’s Choice Award from WomenCertified®, distinguishing it as one of the 2013 America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience in Orthopedics. Based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems surveys for over 4,600 facilities, Queen of the Valley Medical Center also received the Women’s Choice Award for ranking as one of America’s Best Hospitals in Obstetrics for 2013.

The Women’s Choice Award indicates that a hospital meets high standards regarding women’s preferences, allowing women to make informed decisions about which hospital will provide the best care for themselves and their family.

“At Queen of the Valley Medical Center, we are committed to continually improving the quality of care we provide by doing what’s best for our patients. Being recognized by WomenCertified as one of the top hospitals for orthopedic and obstetric care is a testament to this commitment. We are proud of this recognition and tribute to the exceptional work of our physicians, nurses, and care team. We know women have a choice when seeking care and we are honored and humbled women continue to choose Queen of the Valley,” said Walt Mickens, President & CEO, Queen of the Valley Medical Center.

Hospitals qualify for this highly selective annual list based on an in-depth proprietary scoring process. The scoring utilizes data reported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The selection process identifies those hospitals that provide comprehensive services, and that meet criteria for patient satisfaction and surgical excellence based on female needs and preferences.

“We provide women with a trusted third party endorsement based on hospital experiences by women in their community and back that with clinical data to empower them to make smarter healthcare choices. As one of the America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience, Queen of the Valley Medical Center meets the toughest standards of excellence set by women,” states Delia Passi, CEO and founder of WomenCertified and former publisher of Working Woman and Working Mother magazines. “Women have many choices when it comes to Orthopedics and Obstetrics care. Now they can make informed choices based on the recommendations of women who have experienced that hospital. Most importantly, when a woman sees the Women’s Choice Award at her local hospital, she’ll know the hospital values her experience as a critical component of care for her and her loved ones.”
