A' Design Award and Competition is proud to inform that "Golden Moon" project by LEAD ( Laboratory For Explorative Architecture & Design Ltd) became the winner of the famed Platinum A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design Category selected by international judges of the A' Design Award & Competition within numerous projects.
About Golden Moon
"Golden Moon" award winning project represents a temporary architectural structure that combines Hong Kong’s unique building traditions of craftsmanship with contemporary design techniques as a matter of creating a highly expressive and captivating popular public event space. It has as well become the winning entry for the 2012 Lantern Wonderland design competition which was organised for the Mid-Autumn Festival to promote Hong Kong as Asia’s World City. The 6-store high pavilion was built in only 11 days from steel, bamboo, and stretch fabric and was on display for only six days in Hong Kong’s Victoria Park during fall 2012.

The Platinum A' Design Award
The Platinum A' Design Award is a prestigious award given to top 1% percentile designs that has delivered an exemplary level of greatness in design. The designs are judged by a panel of three different jury which is composed of Academic, Professional and Focus Group Members. The designs are evaluated with score normalization to remove any biases and are voted on aspects such as functionality, ergonomics, engineering, presentation, innovation, usability, fun details, technology, and any other specific points that could be considered, each of these points are further weighted for different jury groups.
