Under Director Jeanne Allert’s leadership, in early 2012, The Samaritan Women opened one of the only long-term restoration programs for the victims of sex trafficking in the Mid-Atlantic. The Dept. of Justice estimates there are 300,000 American children who fall victim to modern day sex-slavery, but there are few resources for these victims. The Samaritan Women is on the leading edge of the battle to create awareness and bring resources to bear. The TSW Residence supports 14 women survivors, and represents 8% of the nationwide capacity of beds.

Jeanne established The Maryland Rescue and Restore Coalition in 2008, a statewide social justice initiative against human trafficking, which promotes awareness, advocacy, prevention, intervention, and restoration. Jeanne has effectively and consistently drawn together partners from industry, academia, faith organizations, and law enforcement to help combat trafficking, and to provide volunteers and resources to serve victims. The Samaritan Women is a registered 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization privately funded by individuals, churches, community organizations, corporations, and foundations. TSW is a United Way participating agency and has achieved the GuideStar Exchange seal for financial transparency.

"As a firm, we are always looking ahead at how we can continually increase the value we deliver to our clients, colleagues and the communities in which we live and work,” said Karen McGagh, Director of the firm. "Jeanne is incredibly gifted, dedicated and I’ve met the women whose lives she and her team have transformed.”
