Visas can be a real headache to obtain and renew in some countries, the new proposed plans are set to making living and working in France a lot easier for non EU expats
(PRWEB UK) 6 June 2013
According to Expatriate Health Care, French officials are contemplating making changes to the Visa system for residents who are born outside of the European Union. Currently, the maximum time a Visa enables an expat to stay is three years resulting in millions of non EU residents renewing Visa’s on an annual basis. The laborious process is taken by expats from countries such as The United States, Canada, Australia and India. The new proposed system would give residents from these countries and beyond the opportunity to stay for four years.
A Campaigner for the new proposed scheme added, ‘Only two per cent of temporary visas given to non-European foreigners are for more than one year. Everyone else has to keep going back to local authorities to get their visas renewed.’
The system is aimed at reducing uncertainty for expats as well as saving time and money for the government through reducing administrative work. It is also hoped that more non European Union residents will be attracted to France if Visas are renowned as uncomplicated and speedy.
The proposed amendments are interesting news for Interdean, one of Europe’s most established moving companies.
