On June 4-6, 2013, OceansLIVE will cover proceedings at Capitol Hill Ocean Week (CHOW), the nation’s premier ocean-focused conference, where marine professionals, government officials, and ocean enthusiasts discuss and advance ocean policy goals. All of CHOW OceansLIVE coverage will be available at oceanslive.org.
Online free OceansLIVE programming begins at 10 a.m. Eastern, Tuesday, June 4, with coverage of the opening keynote address by Kathryn Sullivan, Ph.D., NOAA acting administrator, and will continue with coverage of each session of the conference in Washington, D.C.
Also, each day at noon Eastern, OceansLIVE will present “Capitol Hill Ocean Talk,” an original program of lively Q&As with ocean leaders in government, business and environmental organizations.
Capitol Hill Ocean Week is presented by the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation. The annual event features ocean industry leaders, lawmakers and environmental organizations discussing America’s ocean challenges, policies and benefits.
Sessions include topics such as: “A Timeline for the Changing Coast,” “Adapting to Coastal Risks,” “The Next Generation of Fishing,” “Updates from the Gulf of Mexico and Arctic”, “Boosting Economic Growth,” “Blue News: What Gets Covered, and Why”, MPA Work and Support a Vibrant Economy” and “Addressing Risks to Ports, Trade and Supply Chains.” A complete agenda of CHOW topics and speakers is on nmsfocean.org.
