The Suunto Ambit 2 Sapphire is simply the most rugged GPS watch ever made according to the Heart Rate Watch Company.
WHEN CAN I GET ONE?
"The Ambit 2 Sapphire is out of stock everywhere so the big question vexing customers is when can they get one?" says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "The answer is get your orders in right now because the watches will begin shipping again July 1st but they are so popular that there are no guarantees they might not run out again."
"These watches are the most bomb proof GPS watches ever made, they are that rugged and as John Yarington can attest even his Ambit 1 held up to a lava field crash," says Squire.
The Ambit Sapphire offers the longest GPS watch battery life, roughly 16 hours at 1 second recording and up to 50 hours at 1 minute recording. The Sapphire also offers complete navigation and weather features. "This watch is dressy enough to wear to work or to workout," says Squire.
The Fused Altimeter combines both GPS and barometric altitude to smooth the rate of ascent and descent for greater accuracy. "The Ambit 1 would jump 30 or 40 feet at a time and this smooths that altitude out for greater accuracy," says Squire.
Ambit 2 Sapphire also has more memory allowing it to run up to 5 apps simultaneously, weather features and performs lap and stroke features swimming. These are among many features that its competition the Garmin fenix lacks.
The Suunto Ambit 2 Sapphire is available for purchase at the Heart Rate Watch Company for early July delivery.
