The Eagles are taking flight this summer on a 21-date North American tour. The trek is on top of the classic rock band’s recent documentary, History of the Eagles, which debuted in March.

Based on buzz from the band’s website, Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit will perform their classic hits, including “Hotel California,” “New Kid In Town,” “Take It To The Limit,” “One Of These Nights,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” “Rocky Mountain Way,” “Best Of My Love” and “Take It Easy.” Tracks from the band members’ solo catalogs will also be featured.

The band’s latest three-disc documentary DVD provides an unprecedented look at their history and music, and includes never-before-released footage from the Eagles’ two-night stand in Washington, D.C. during the Hotel California tour. The DVD debuted on Showtime in April, earning the network its highest ratings for a music documentary in eight years. In addition, Part One premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
The Eagles have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide. They have won six Grammy Awards. Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975) is the best-selling album ever, with over 42 million copies sold.
The band is also currently ranked as the fifth highest-selling music act and best-selling American band in history. In addition, no other domestic group sold more records than the Eagles in the 1970s, who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. (Source: wikipedia.org)
