A Champion-sponsored affiliate purchased a 352-unit apartment complex in Hilliard, Ohio, on May 31, 2013. The community, newly named Hilliard Village, is located near Wilson Road and I-70.

“We are going to reposition Hilliard Village over the next six months,” Brian Yeager, president and CEO, said. “The community has great potential, and we look forward to pumping in a significant capital investment to bring this asset up to its true potential and value.”

Hilliard Village is situated on more than 17 acres of beautifully landscaped greenspace and features a playground, resort-style swimming pool, fitness center, and laundry facility. The community appeals to a wide range of renters, as it offers one- and two-bedroom garden-style apartments, in addition to two- and three-bedroom townhomes. Hilliard Village is also located within the desirable and top-rated Hilliard City School District.

Champion is no stranger to the Hilliard area, as it currently manages three other nearby complexes, including Bridgestone Apartments, Saddlebrook Apartments, and Pinelake Apartments.

“We love the community of Hilliard. The area is rapidly growing, has a great school district, and is close to many major businesses,” Yeager said. “Our sister communities in Hilliard have been performing remarkably.”

“This is a great opportunity for Champion to add an additional property in the Hilliard submarket,” he added. “Hilliard Village will complement our other Hilliard communities and allow us to offer a variety of locations and floor plans to our renters.”

The addition of Hilliard Village has brought Champion’s management portfolio up to 14 apartment communities and more than 3,600 units throughout central Ohio.

“So far, 2013 has been an incredible and record-setting year for our organization,” Yeager said. “We have closed on five apartment communities and nearly 1,200 units, and we look forward to continued growth throughout the remainder of the year.”
