Maker House is the very first artisan-driven maker space in the country. That it is happening in Tucson, where we're known for our vibrant art community, is something Tucsonans can be very proud of.

Maker House, the nation's first artisan-driven maker space, is looking for experienced artists, crafters, coders, foodies and others with expert skills to join their teaching team.

Located in the historic Bates Mansion at 283 N Stone in Downtown Tucson, the staff at Maker House is currently renovating the former home of the Mountain Oyster Club to include a 5,000 foot square courtyard, an on-site classroom size coffee bar, multiple workrooms, and a tech lab that will house modern artistic equipment, including 3D printers, computerized sewing machines, vinyl cutters and more.

"Our goal is to let the community drive what happens here, what classes we offer, what events we put on," says Executive Director, Vanessa Ford, "so it is vital that we have a broad range of teachers who can help address the needs and wants of Tucsonans. We're incredibly excited to offer classes in just about anything the community would like to see here."

Ford states that Maker House will be instrumental in marketing the classes to the greater Tucson community, and that the organization will also provide instructor training for all incoming instructors.
