Dance Academy USA is proud to announce the winners of its first-ever “School Spirit Challenge.” After 16 days of voting, thousands of votes were cast for over 30 separate Cupertino, CA area schools. With all votes having been counted, the top prize winner is Catholic Academy - Sunnyvale. As the top prize winner, Dance Academy USA will donate $2,500 to that school’s Parent-Teacher Association.

Coming in second place is Stevens Creek Elementary school and, in third place, is Lincoln Elementary - Cupertino. Those schools will receive $1000 and $500, respectively, for their Parent-Teacher Associations.

Jane Carter, Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Dance Academy USA said “Over the course of the last 16 days, thousands of members of the Cupertino area demonstrated their school spirit by participating in our challenge. We couldn’t be prouder for having sponsored this contest because, as a member of the community ourselves, Dance Academy USA is committed to ensuring that our dancers have the best possible resources available to them not only in the studio, but in the classroom as well.” She continued, “We’d like to extend our sincere congratulations to the winning schools, as well as our deep gratitude to all who participated. We hope the prize money will be put to good use, especially to support dance and the arts.”

The School Spirit Challenge was open to all K-12 schools with a minimum of 100 kids in the Cupertino area. Voting began on Friday, May 17th and ran through Sunday, June 2nd. Dance Academy USA decided to sponsor the School Spirit Challenge as a way of giving back to the community it serves. “At DAU, we strive for excellence every day and, as part of the Cupertino community, it’s extremely important to us that we do our part to ensure that the schools that mold and teach our children have the tools and resources they need to strive for excellence as well,” Carter said.

Due to the overwhelming success of the School Spirit Challenge, Dance Academy USA looks forward to launching its next contest, details of which will be announced in the coming months.
