At the Second Annual Girl Up Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C., U.S. teens will gain skills to advocate for girls around the world.

What:     The United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up campaign will hold its second annual Girl Up Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C., bringing together celebrities, industry leaders and hundreds of teens from across the country in an event that will equip youth in the United States with the skills they need to support girls around the world.

In many places, girls are unable to fulfill their dreams because they are denied an education, lack access to quality health services and face violence. Girl Up mobilizes American girls to raise awareness and funds for UN programs that provide girls around the world with life-changing opportunities like the chance to go to school, see a doctor and stay safe from violence.

At the Summit, teen girls will lead and attend workshops focused on developing skills in community and school organizing, event planning, advocacy, communications and fundraising - all in effort to raise awareness and take action to help their peers in developing countries.
