Baja SAE’s goal is to test aspiring engineering students with a challenging, real world project that will prepare them for their careers in the industry.
Warrendale, PA (PRWEB) June 03, 2013
SAE International’s Collegiate Design Series will be hosting the second of its three regional competitions – Baja SAE® Rochester – June 6-9 at Hogback Hill Motocross Track in Rochester, NY.
Baja SAE’s goal is to test aspiring engineering students with a challenging, real world project that will prepare them for their careers in the industry. These students hail from prestigious universities with remarkably intensive engineering programs such as Cornell University and Université Laval, who shared victories in the 2012 calendar year.
The vehicles are powered by a ten-horsepower Intek Model 20 Engine, which are donated by Briggs & Stratton Corporation, one of Baja SAE’s sponsors. The identical engines that every team must use provide an extra challenge to design the vehicle to best utilize the power given. Once designed and assembled, the teams will travel to Rochester, NY to face static and dynamic simulations that will test the vehicle’s capability.
