NMB Technologies Corporation, a Minebea Group Company, announced today the availability of UV / Wet Location rated cooling fans for OEM applications. The AC axial 4715HS Series and the 5915PC Series are already available potted, and are now UV/Wet location approved. These cooling fans are suitable for unprotected locations, such as outdoor applications, where the cooling fans receive direct contact with rain, snow or excessive moisture, fog or ocean spray.
NMB already offers a variety of AC and DC cooling fans available potted and IP rated, however, many OEM applications require a thermal solution with a higher level of protection. UV/ Wet location approval represents an added advantage to the OEM when the application environment is a concern.
Wet location approvals, under UL-507, involve testing for a variety of environmental situations, including water spray, humidity conditioning, sealing compound, and thermal cycling, as well as ultraviolet radiation testing (exposure to sunlight) for UV approval.
