Desire to remain committed to music in Portland prompts Sherman Clay employees to form new company.

Portland Piano Company

Supporting the local music community, and providing expertise and quality instruments, is my passion. I can’t imagine doing anything else.

Mitch Paola, General Manager of Sherman Clay Pianos for 25 years, has opened the Portland Piano Company in the historic Tiffany Center in downtown Portland. When Sherman Clay closed its Portland store earlier this year, Paola and the Sherman Clay staff decided to utilize their shared experience, passion for music and dedication to the community, and open their own store.

“It was the next logical step for us; we just weren’t ready to be done,” says Paola, whose love of music led him to join the family business, Moe's Pianos (which later partnered with Sherman Clay), 30 years ago. “Moe's Pianos is named after Maurice (Moe) Schuster, my grandfather, a violinist with the symphony who loved to rebuild pianos. Supporting the local music community, and providing expertise and quality instruments, is my passion. I can’t imagine doing anything else.”

Portland Piano Company continues the ongoing commitment to provide the highest quality sales and service by offering new and used pianos for every budget and special event pianos through Moe's Pianos Concert & Event Rentals. They carry Fazioli, Grotrian, Baldwin, and Heintzman Pianos. For more information, visit http://www.portlandpianocompany.com.
