The CPR is a significant piece of legislation for the construction industry and Building Test Expo is a perfect platform to help raise awareness of its effects and what steps need to be taken.
Cologne, Germany (PRWEB UK) 5 June 2013
With the Construction Products Regulation coming into force in July, and the process of mandatory CE marking any product covered by a harmonised European standard being implemented as national legislation, it is vital that manufacturers of construction products understand the changes in the law.
When the new regulation is introduced, Conformité Européenne (CE) marking will become a compulsory process whereby manufacturers make a declaration that a product meets the criteria set by the relevant European Directives. It is important that any company selling – or intending to sell – on the European market seeks independent advice to fully understand the multiple regulatory systems, standards and requirements.
Gathering a delegation of international representatives from companies including Intertek, Fraunhofer, SGS, Efectis, Dekra, Underwriters Laboratories, Exova Warringtonfire, Controls and many more, Building Test Expo (11-13 June, 2013) will hold a series of free seminars explaining the requirements of CE marking and testing, from the raw material through to the finished building.
“With the CPR imminent, it is imperative that manufacturers are able to obtain an accurate overview of the costs and processes of CE marking their products. Our aim with Building Test Expo is to bring together the industry’s leading testing laboratories, certification bodies and consultants to create a one-stop shop of testing services that promote quality, sustainability and innovation alongside legislative compliance," said Phil Butterworth, Event Director, Building Test Expo.
Building Test Expo runs Tuesday 11th- Thursday 13th June at the Koelnmesse, Cologne, with certification workshops running alongside the exhibition.
Paul Duggan, Certification Manager, Exova Warringtonfire, who is speaking at the event said;
"The CPR is a significant piece of legislation for the construction industry and Building Test Expo is a perfect platform to help raise awareness of its effects and what steps need to be taken."
