Brightsmith announces the expansion of its operations into Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) with the addition of Steven Brookes as Managing Director of EMEA Operations.

Building on its rapid growth and demand in North America for its Social Innovation and Expert Q&A Forums for SharePoint, Brightsmith is pleased to announce that it has expanded its leadership team to include Steven Brookes as Managing Director for EMEA.

Brookes joins Brightsmith with a strong background in the development and delivery of collaborative solutions – having formerly led the Microsoft team at Capgemini and most recently as the Director of Services for Microsoft Consulting Services in the UK.

“High performing companies ensure that the employee, customer and partner are fundamental to innovation and change; their inclusion is essential in surfacing innovation and making change stick. Social Engagement for SharePoint delivers a new dimension of engagement to the Enterprise - and Brightsmith is at the forefront of delivering on these capabilities,” said Brookes.

In his role as Managing Director for EMEA, Brookes will be responsible for building and leading the EMEA team, including sales, marketing, support and business operations.

“Steve brings a great deal of experience and leadership to Brightsmith, and his background is ideally suited to deliver on the promise of Social Collaboration for SharePoint,” said Jeff Spencer, CEO of Brightsmith.

According to Gartner, most social collaborative initiatives fail due to lack of purpose. "Without a well-crafted and compelling purpose, most social media initiatives will fail to deliver business value," said Anthony Bradley, group vice president at Gartner.

Social engagement creates business outcomes when it is purpose-driven and can capture and leverage the knowledge, insight, and ideas of employees, partners, and customers.

About Brightsmith: Brightsmith is a collaboration, innovation, and expertise software application built on SharePoint. Brightsmith delivers on yesterday’s promise today, bringing gamification, content curation, social influence, social collaboration and reward-based crowdsourcing to the Enterprise.
