Peter Drucker's wisdom is cogent, compelling and needed in today's chaotic business environment.
Claremont, CA (PRWEB) June 04, 2013
The Drucker Institute at Claremont Graduate University announced today that Donald Keough, the chairman of the investment firm Allen & Co. and the former president of The Coca-Cola Co., has joined its Board of Advisors.
Keough served as president and chief operating officer of Coca-Cola from March 1981 until April 1993. He recently stepped down as a Coca-Cola director but continues to serve as an advisor to the company’s Board. He is also a director of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. and IAC/InterActiveCorp.
“Don is a true business legend, and his deep experience and practical wisdom will be invaluable as the Drucker Institute, having now firmly established itself as a key resource for individuals and organizations seeking to be more effective, looks to further extend its reach and impact,” said Curt Pullen, the Drucker Institute’s chairman and executive vice president of Herman Miller. “The Institute is at an important pivot point, and Don is an ideal addition to help us grow successfully.”
Rick Wartzman, the Drucker Institute’s executive director, noted that Peter Drucker consulted with Keough during his days at Coca-Cola. The two were friends.
“Don understands how timeless Peter’s teachings are—especially his overarching philosophy that society is only as strong as the organizations within it,” Wartzman said. “It’s not surprising that you can see quite a bit of Drucker reflected in Don’s own wonderful book, The Ten Commandments for Business Failure.”
Said Keough: “Peter Drucker's wisdom is cogent, compelling and needed in today's chaotic business environment. The Drucker Institute is the voice of his wisdom, and I am delighted to be joining the Drucker Institute Board of Advisors."
